Yes, Aether, it does. At this site, www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/dontpanic-tour, it says "h2g2's inspiration comes from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the best-selling book by Douglas Adams (who was one of the original founders of the site)." And of course the movie is based on the book.

I, too, read the first four of the trilogy. I haven't found the fifth yet, but I think the public library has it. The high school library definitely doesn't have it.

I thought that the forth didn't really take the story much further, it just developed Arthur and that girl he meets in that one's relationship.
